Dorcas Cooper, 83

Dorcas Cooper, 83 of West Portsmouth, died Thursday February 2, 2017 at Best Care Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born August 11, 1933 in West Portsmouth to the late Oswell and Mandy Conley Pennington. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by a son Mike Rapp, 2 sisters, Maxibe Fultz and Kathleen Fugitt.

She had many jobs in her life, starting at the Williams Shoe Factory and retiring as salad prep at O'Malleys.

Dorcas is survived by her daughter, Mary (Rick) Johnson of Stockdale, a sister Garnet (Charley) Whittaker of McDermott, 3 grandchildren; Amanda Roberts, Jared Johnson, and Tonya Clark, and 4 great-grandchildren; Cora Roberts, Kelsey Roberts, Monika Eichhorn, and Kyler Eichhorn.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday February 6, 2017 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Don Malone officiating and interment in Lucasville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday starting at 11:00 AM. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Dry Run Mission Church in Dorcas's name.
