Doris J. Barber Phillips Nibert, 82
Doris J. Barber Phillips Nibert, 82 of West Portsmouth, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 26, 2007 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. Doris was born July 29, 1924 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Richard and Alma Barber. She had retired from Borden's Dairy in 1988, was a dedicated member of Old Town United Methodist church in West Portsmouth, where she was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Women's Society and Wee-Ones. She enjoyed writing short stories, sewing, arts and crafts and spending time with her great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Harold D. Phillips Jr. and her second husband Carlos Nibert, one son, Stanley Phillips, two brothers; Howard and Richard Barber and one son-in-law, Johnny Meadows.
Doris is survived by two sisters, Joyce Mullens of Portsmouth and Rosalyn (Scott) Thompson of Fort Myers, Florida; two daughter's, Candace Meadows of West Portsmouth and Laurel J. (Keith) Boyd of Minford; two sons, Brian (Penny) Phillips of West Portsmouth and Richard Phillips of Portsmouth. She was the loving grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many friends, family and a special son-in-law Randy Horner. She will be forever loved and missed.
Funeral services will be 11AM Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Old Town United Methodist Church with Rev. Matthew Brooks Officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the Roger W.
