Obituary

Edgar Spencer, 80

Edgar Spencer, 80 of Portsmouth, formerly of Paintsville, KY died Wednesday, January 03, 2007 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. On January 3, 2007 this beloved sweet man, Edgar Spencer woke up in Jesus arms to reunite with his father Cager and Mother Oma Collins Spencer, his widow Okie and the daughter they shared, Betty Collins. Edgar retired from Taylor Lumber Company. He loved people. He spent his retired days at home, going to see Ralph Stanley, listening to Bluegrass Gospel music, and being the canman of John Street. He loved drawing pictures of his old cars and giving them to people. He had a great last year, having one of his cars in the Alzihemiers Association Auction, going to concerts, and riding a horse at 80. Those were his proud moments. Now he is in heaven playing his harmonica for Jesus.

Surviving are five grandchildren, Sarah Collins (Terry) Rickards, Nancy (Lee) Duncan, Joseph (LeeAnn) Collins, Rachel (Joe) Szerletich, Mary (Robert) Robertson; and seven great grandchildren, his little man Noah, Tyler, Ashley, Katlyn, Charlie, Mary, and Robert. He is also survived by six brothers, Claude, Ronald, Gary, Thomas, Albert and Willie Spencer; seven sisters, Becky, Mildred, Irish (his Tersie), Venus, Linda, Louise and Maltie. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Several siblings he went to meet in Heaven, brothers, Roger and Clyde and sisters, Myrtle and Evelyn.
