Edmund Lee Thomas, 76 of Wheelersburg, died Friday August 19, 2011 at his home. He was born March 14, 1935 in Scioto County to the late William and Alice Free Thomas. He was retired from Portsmouth Castings Company. Along with his parents Edmund was preceded in death by his wife Mary Alta Scaff Thomas who he married on November 11, 1958, a son Edmund Dale Thomas, 3 sisters; Ruth Thomas, Janet O'Bryan and Jean James.

Edmund is survived by a son Bill Skidmore of Alabama, 2 daughters; Sandra Skidmore of North Carolina and Cathy Skidmore of Albuquerque, New Mexico, a daughter in law law; Norma Thomas of Wheelersburg, a sister Lucille Graham of Grove city, 6 Grandchildren; Dan Skidmore, Chad Burton and Tina Buchanan all of Bryson City, NC., Gloria Thomas (Jayme) Summers of Liberty, Ky., Nathan ( Jamie Burroughs) Thomas of Minford and Nikki Thomas of Portsmouth, 10 great grandchildren; Daniel Skidmore, Allison Skidmore, Zach Grider, Patrick Summers, Davontae Burroughs, Kiara Burroughs, Addison Thomas, Kiley Pate, Gabe Pate, and Amelia Pate. The family would also like to thank Alternative Home Health, Jamie Burroughs, Kelly Hayden, SOMC Hospice and the staff of the Southern Ohio Medical Center for their care and support.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday August 23, 2011 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Don Ellis and Peter Michael officiating and interment in Rushtown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8:00 PM on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. The family's favorite charity is SOMC Hospice.
