Elna Lorene Mccown Burchett, 93

Elna Lorene McCown Burchett, 93 of Stout, died Saturday September 8, 2007 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born January 15, 1914 in Scioto County to the late George Henry and Mabel Gertrude Hinze Schackart. She was a former nursing assistant at Mercy Hospital and attended Our Lady of Sorrows Church and Pond Run Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband Marcum Manley McCown, a daughter Madonna Swal and a brother Stanley Schackart.

Elna is survived by 4 daughters; Carolyn McCown of Culver City, Ca, Mary Lou Vokes of Chillicothe, Arlana Skaggs of West Portsmouth and Kathleen McCullough of Stout. 10 Grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday September 12, 2007 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Reverend James McCullough and Father David Young officiating with interment in Rushtown Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday and 1 hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Ohio.
