Elnora M. Trimble, 97

Elnora M. Trimble, 97, of West Portsmouth, died Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Rest Haven Nursing Home. She was born April 1, 1929 in Portsmouth to the late Clarence and Elizabeth Bradley Ratliff.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell Trimble, whom she married on July 20, 1946; 2 brothers, Delbert Ray Ratliff and Lloyd Ratliff; 3 sisters, Juanita Peyton, Betty White, and Donna Diles; a grandson, Ross M. Hamilton III; and a son-in-law, Otis Banks.

Elnora worked at Williams Shoe Manufacturing for 24 years and Mitchellace for 14 and a half years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and American Legion. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and vacationing with her husband and children.

She is survived by a son, Mitchell P. (Catherine) Trimble; 2 daughters, Linda Banks and Elizabeth (Ross) Hamilton; 7 grandchildren, Brian (Velma) Holbrook, Brett Holbrook (Missy Davis), Melissa Holbrook (Sam Hall), Christopher Hamilton (Tamara Reed), Amy (Cecil) Johnson, Todd (Lynnsey) Holland, and Raenee (Matt) Gross; 14 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, May 15, 2026 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Brian Holbrook and Chris Hamilton officiating and interment in Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday beginning at 10:00 AM.
