Emory Craddoc "Doc" Frye 58
Emory Craddoc "Doc" Frye, 58 of Keystone Heights passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at the Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka, Fl following a sudden illness. Doc was born February 23, 1951 in Portsmouth to the late Rev. Hoard Frye and Bessie Frye Kennedy who survives. He served in the US Army, was a Kentucky Colonel, a Southeast regional manager for Lamb Fuels, Inc. of Chula Vista, Calif where he had worked for the past five years. Doc was a member of the Lake Hill Baptist Church in Keystone Heights, were he has lived for the past 25 years. He enjoyed operating heavy equipment. He was a loving husband and father, and adored his grandchildren. Doc was proceeded in death by four brothers; Horde, Michael, Ed, and Terry Frye and two sisters; Maxine Howard and Kate Brown.
Doc is survived by his wife; Johanna Jackson Frye of Keystone Heights, Fl, mother; Bessie Frye (Robert) Kennedy of Portsmouth, two daughters; Crystal (Marshall) Taylor of Ocala, Fl and Carrie (Tony) Yarnell of Columbus, one step-daughter; Misty Jackson of Florida, one step-son; Dustin Jackson of Portsmouth, eight sisters; Dody Frye of Portsmouth, Garnet and Anna Davis of Wheelersburg, Rose (Jr.) Wiley , Sue Frye ,Pam (Jerry) Adkins all of West Portsmouth, Marva (Jack) Riley of Friendship and Barb (Jack) Stecher of Charlotte, NC, one brother; Wayne Frye of Austin, Tx, four grandchildren; Charlie Taylor of Ocala, Fl, Jacob, Caylee and Abigail Yarnell all of Columbus.
Funeral services will be 1pm, Monday, March 30, 2009 at Stoney Run Tabernacle, with Junior Wiley and Danny Thompson officiating and entombment in Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth on Sunday from 4 to 8 and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
