Eugene Staggs, 88

Eugene Staggs, 88 of West Portsmouth, died Monday March 24, 2014 at SOMC Hospice. He was born April 12, 1925 in West Portsmouth to the late Earl Wilson and Allie Coleman Staggs. He was a WWII US Navy veteran. He painted cars for the Ford garage in Portsmouth for 43 years and was a custodian for Washington Nile Local Schools for 10 years. Along with his parents Eugene was preceded in death by 4 brothers; Earl Jr., Donald, Paul and Doug Staggs and a sister Ruby Armbrister. Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Juanita Joann Redoutey Staggs who he married on June 30, 1947, 3 daughters; Karen (Charles) Kennedy of McDermott, Paulette (Tim) Mitchell and Shawn (Jerry) Staggs Frazier all of West Portsmouth, 2 brothers; Charles Staggs of Portsmouth and Jack Staggs of West Portsmouth, 3 grandchildren; Chris Mitchell (Josie) , Lindsay Mitchell (Jeff) and Brandon (Shannon) Kennedy, 5 great grandchildren and his special dog "Foxy" A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Friday March 28, 2014 at Scioto Burial Park in McDermott with graveside military rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.
