Eugene Edward Wilburn, 77

Eugene Edward Wilburn 77, of Delaware, Ohio formally of McDermott, died Friday June 12, 2009 at his residence. He was born April 15, 1932 in Greenup County, Ky. to the late John and Nellie Osborne Wilburn. Gene was retired from Martin Marietta, was a Korean War Navy Veteran and was a member and Past Master of Lucasville Masonic Lodge # 465, a 32 degree Mason and a member of the Syrian Shine of Cincinnati. Along with his parents he was precede in death by a sister Louise Bailey.

Gene is survived by his wife Darlene J. Rhoden who he married on August 28, 1954 in Portsmouth, a son Daniel Wilburn of Missoula, Montana, 2 daughters; Amoret Waddell of Frankfort, Ky., and Karen Horn of Deleware, 5 grandchildren; Errin Tullis, Jennifer DeLaRosa, Garrett Wilburn, Nikki Waddell and Amanda Schlaegel, 3 great grandchildren; Ethan and Anna Schlaegel and Odin DeLaRosa, 4 sisters; Charlotte Gambill, Frances Whaley, Zelma Clark and Carol Cruitt, along with a special brother-in-law Forrest Rhoden of California and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday June 19, 2009 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Rick Phillips officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park with graveside military rites by James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Thursday with Masonic Services starting at 8:00 PM conducted by Lucasville Masonic Lodge # 465.
