Evelyn Louise Shekels, 90

Evelyn Louise Shekels, 90 of Stout, entered into the arms of Jesus on Sunday February 27, 2022 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born December 5, 1931 in Portsmouth to the late Roy and Audrey Kitchen Chaffin.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Franklin Theodore Shekels, whom she married in 1949, a daughter Tanesa Shekels, 3 sisters Margaret Waddell, Esther Hauth, and Delores Pack, a brother Shirl Rulh and a son-in-law Bobby Lawson.

Evelyn was a member of the Riverview Wesleyan Church where she served as the treasurer for 30 years.

She is survived by 2 sons, Lin (Karen) Shekels, Tim (Tammy) Shekels, a daughter Tami Lawson, 6 grandchildren, Josh (Sarah) Lawson, T.J. (Erica) Lawson, Crystal Stone, Nathan (Tosh) Stevens, Ashley (Jeremy) Buckle, James Long, Tara Steele, and Lexie Doddridge, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00PM Friday March 4, 2022 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Mike Queen officiating and interment in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday starting at 11AM. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Riverview Wesleyan Church.
