Everett Ray Pitts, 83

Everett Ray Pitts, 83 of West Portsmouth died Friday June 26, 2009 at his residence. He was born December 3, 1925 in Lucasville to the late Thomas and Lona Jenkins Pitts. He was a retired Laborer and worked out of Laborers Local # 83, was a WWII Army Veteran and a lifelong member and worker of 8th Street Wesleyan Chapel in West Portsmouth. Along with his parents Everett was preceded in death by a son Timothy Ray Pitts, a grandson Jeremy Ray Pitts and 4 sisters; Marjorie Osborne, Vada Irene McGue, Doris Pitts and Louise Cole.

Everett is survived by his wife Eileen Perkins Pitts who he married January 1, 1949 in Greenup, Kentucky, 3 children; Sheila Wallace of Sciotoville, Jeffrey Ray Pitts of West Portsmouth and Cindy Baer of Wheelersburg, 2 brothers; Robert Pitts of Michigan and Thomas Pitts of Lubbock, TX, 1 sister Jean Payton of Lucasville, 8 grandchildren; Teresa, Julie, Joey, Chris, Michael, Laura, Marie and Eric, 8 great grandchildren; Chelsea, Chase, Payton, Brooklyn, Zane, Olivia, Elisa and Eugene.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday June 30, 2009 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Carl Rose officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park with graveside military rites by James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Monday and 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
