Faye Kamer, 86

Faye Kamer, 86 of West Portsmouth, died Wednesday May 20, 2015 at Heartland of Portsmouth. She was born on May 31, 1928 in New Boston to the late Lewis W. and Jewell Green Brown. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Church of Christ. She served for many years as a cook at Howells Mills Christian Assembly. On January 15, 2015 Faye was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Gilbert Junior Kamer who she married on September 9, 1947. Along with her parents and husband, Faye was preceded in death by a sister, Marcelene McGlone.

Faye is survived by 3 daughters; Sandra (Elwood) Lewis of Clayton, NC, Joan (Dennis) Dawes of Portsmouth and Phyllis (Thomas) Logan of South Shore, 8 grandchildren; Ed (Sheila) Lewis, Eric (Kim) Lewis, Andrew (Elaine) Dawes, Daryn (Eve) Dawes, Steve (Tabitha) Dawes, Keri (Korey) Alexander, Dustin (Kim) Logan, and Jesse Logan, 6 great-grandchildren; CJ Lewis, Layla Dawes, Josie Dawes, Mason Dawes, Gavin Dawes, and Hunter Alexander, 3 sisters; Geneva (Bill) Miller, Ivory Brown and Wilma Ridell.

Funeral services will be 3:30 Saturday May 23, 2015 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Dennis Dawes officiating and interment in Friendship Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Friday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
