Florine C. Grumme, 97

Florine C. Birchfield Ketter Grumme, 97 of West Portsmouth, died Sunday June 2, 2013 at Hempsted Manor. She was born March 26, 1916 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia to the late Madison and Edith Sowards Birchfield. She worked at Williams Shoe Co., was a cake decorator and a seamstress. She was a member of Nauvoo United Methodist Church and attended Old Town United Methodist Church. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George Finley Grumme who she married in August of 1954, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Florine is survived by 2 sons; Madison (Linda) Ketter of Punta Gorda, FL and Harry Ketter of West Portsmouth, a brother Jim Birchfield of FL, 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday June 5, 2013 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Chris Wiseman officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday starting at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Old Town United Methodist Church in Florine's name.
