Forrest Erwin Elliott, 85

Forrest Erwin Elliott, 85 of Friendship, died Friday, July 1, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 3, 1937, to the late Stanley A. Elliott and Dollie Mae McGraw Elliott.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a son James Patrick Elliott; 3 sisters, Betty Morris, Deetta Chamblin, and Marcella Ash and 3 brothers, Stanley Jr., Howard, and Donald Elliott.

Forrest was an Army veteran and retired maintenance mechanic from USEC. He attended Friendship United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janis McCoy Elliott of 52 years, whom he married on May 29, 1970. He is also survived by a son Timothy (Maryellen) Elliott; 2 daughters, Michelle (Christopher) Brewer and Tina (Brian) Long; a sister Marjorie (Jack) Dials; 5 grandchildren, Braedon (Caitlin) Oliver, Zachary and Luke Elliott, Wesley Brewer, and Kaitlyn Long and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be 11AM Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with pastor Greg Carter officiating with interment in McKendree Cemetery with military graveside rites performed by James Dickey Post 23. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5PM to 7PM and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
