Frank Prater, 79
Frank Prater, 79 of West Portsmouth died Sunday June 19, 2011 at SOMC Hospice. He was born May 27, 1932 in Prestonsburg, KY to the late James and Ella May Prater. Frank was retired from the Ohio Operating Engineers Local 10, an Army Veteran and a member of Aurora Masonic Lodge #48. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Alberta "Bonnie" Prater, 4 brothers; Lawrence, Edward, Carl, and Ernest, 2 sisters; Edith Irene Prater, and Janet Copas.
He is survived by 2 sons; Franklin Edward (Kim) Prater of Portsmouth, Rodney Dale (Jamie) Prater of McDermott, a daughter; Lori Lee Jenkins of Orwell, OH, a brother; Kenneth Prater of Reynoldsburg OH, 4 sisters; Marie Goble of Prestonsburg KY, Garnet Hackworth of West Portsmouth, Eunice Culver of West Portsmouth, Rosetta Henry of McDermott, 4 grandchildren Cassie Jo Prater, Hollie Prater, Jenna Jenkins, James Prater.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday June 23, 2011 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Ed Cox officiating and interment in Mershon Cemetery with graveside military rites by James Dickey Post #23 of the American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8:00 PM on Wednesday with Masonic service at 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
