Fred A. Brown, 86
Fred A Brown, 86 of West Portsmouth, died Tuesday May 11, 2010 at Hempstead Manor. He was born May 5 1924 in Lawrence County to the late Grover and Helen Farmer Brown. He was an Army WWII veteran and a former employee at Bob and Floyds Gas Stations.
Fred is survived by a son David Brown of Mansfield, Oh 3 sisters; Helen Brown of West Portsmouth, Mildred Quillen of Florida and Kathleen Maier of Portsmouth. Along with his parents, Fred was preceded in death by a brother Donald Brown and a sister Marcella Tatman.
There will be graveside services 11:00 AM Friday May 14, 2010 at Edgewood Abby in Memorial Burial Park with George Vastine officiating. Military rites will follow provided by James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Family and friends will gather starting at 10:30AM. The family would like to thank Hempstead Manor and Heartland Hospice for their wonderful care. They would also like donations made to Heartland Hospice in Fred's name. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
