Garnet Pierce, 81, of McDermot, OH went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 17th , 2026. Garnet was born in Olive Hill KY on June 14th 1945 the daughter of Herman Greenhill and Gertrude (Taybor) Greenhill.

Garnet was preceded in death by her father Hermon Greenhill, mother Gertrude (Taybor) Greenhill, sisters Maesceen Easterling, and Ruth Ann Richmond, also her brother Hermon Jr. Greenhill all of Carter County KY.

She is survived by her husband Maurice Pierce with whom she recently celebrated 59 years of marriage. Garnet is also survived by (3 sons) Vincen Pierce and wife Tammy Pierce, Thomas Pierce, and Phillip Pierce and wife Heather Pierce, (5 grandchildren) Brandon Pierce, Justin Pierce, Derek Pierce, Alex Pierce, and Valiree Fahey. She is also survived by one sister Stella Mae Burton.

Garnet was a local business owner for over 50 years. She spent many years as the proprietor of Factory Outlet Shoes, M & G Shoes, and later as the owner of South Shore Florists and Gifts. Garnet served the Lord for many years as a pastor’s wife and gospel singer. Recording two albums that made their way all acrost the country blessing people with her spiritual southern gospel singing. Most importantly she was a light and example willing to point you toward Gods grace. She was also known for her ability to cook amazing meals. If you knew her there is a good chance she fed you and fed you well. There could be no better example of a good wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Garnet will always be remembered for her kind and loving nature along with her ability to make everyone feel special.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday October 22, 2026 at Roger W. Davis Funeral Home at 1310 3rd St, West Portsmouth, OH 45663. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 11 am until the start of the service. Brothers Rick Arthur and Lonnie Gamble will be officiating.
