Garrett Lee Callihan, Sr.
Garrett Lee "Gary" Callihan, Sr. of West Portsmouth, died Saturday March 10, 2012 at OSU Medical Center in Columbus. He was born June 4, 1940 in Scioto County to the late Leslie Elmo "Tiny" Callihan and Charlotte Mae Young Callihan. Along with his parents Gary was preceded in death by a sister Joan McCallister. Gary was retired form the Ohio State Highway Patrol after 30 years of service, was a member of the Portsmouth Motorcycle Club, United Commercial Travelers and Civic Forum. He formerly attended Nauvoo United Methodist Church and currently attended Dry Run Church of Christ.
Gary is survived by his wife of 51 years Bonnie Jean Fucci Callihan who he married on January 14, 1961, a daughter Angel Kay Mitchell of Cincinnati, 2 sons; Garrett Lee "Gary" (Lisa) Callihan Jr. and Jerry Wayne Callihan both of West Portsmouth, 6 grandchildren; Tony Mitchell, Amber Neal, Kayla Callihan, Korie Callihan, Kacie Callihan and Kelsie Callihan.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday March 15, 2012 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Mark Seevers officiating and interment in McKendree Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Gary's name to The Unverferth House, 190 King Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43201.
