Gary Cook, 62
Gary Cook 62 of West Portsmouth, died December 26, 2009 at his residence. Gary was born April 13, 1947 in Portsmouth to the late Charles and Irene Hammonds Cook. Along with his parents Gary was preceded in death by one brother; Charles Cook and two sisters; Virginia Kitchen and Carol McQueen. Gary had retired from Laborers Local 83 and was a member of American Legion Post 471, Moose and Eagles Lodges all of Portsmouth.
Gary is survived by his former wife of 36 years and the mother of his children Shirley Cook of West Portsmouth, his companion of 11 years, Gloria Schitzius of Portsmouth two sons; Gary (Stacey) Cook of Ashland, KY and Charles Cook of West Portsmouth, one brother; General Hammonds, three grandchildren; Gary, Kris and Devyn Cook , one great grandchild; Isabel Cook and his companions mother Minnie Christy.
Funeral Services will be 10 am, Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call at the Roger W Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth From 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday and at Memorial Burial Park on Thursday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
