Gene Fitzgerald, 72

Gene Fitzgerald, 72 of Wheelersburg passed away, Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at his home. Gene was born December 27, 1935 in Dayton, OH to the late Ray and Commila Burr Fitzgerald.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Virginia Ruth Holsinger Fitzgerald; three sons, Rex (Rosemary) Fitzgerald of Wheelersburg, Charlie (Tina) Fitzgerald of Portsmouth, Larry (Audra) Fitzgerald of Lucasville; four daughters, Rosie (Elbert) Nehus of West Union, Carol (Frank) Laxton of Minford, Betty (Mike) Gibson of West Union and Alice Storer of Celina; 20 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; three brothers, Herman (Mona) Fitzgerald of West Union, Bob (Lila) Fitzgerald of Portsmouth, Ross (Martha) Fitzgerald of Portsmouth; one sister Helen Evans of West Union; several nieces, nephews and special friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter Norma Gene in 1956; four brothers, Harold, Elmer, Jackie and Raymond; and four sisters Rita, Freda, Viola and Jenny.

Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Friday, June 8, 2007 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with J.R. Holsinger officiating and interment in Sunshine Ridge Cemetery.
