Geneva Frye, 88

Geneva Davis Frye, 88 of West Portsmouth, died Tuesday February 12, 2013 at SOMC Hospice. She was born December 9, 1924 in Firebrick, Ky., to the late Emery Everett and Dora Bailey Davis. She moved to Ohio in the early 1930's and attended Friendship School and Washington High School, (Portsmouth West). She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post # 471. She married H. Donald Frye of the Stoney Run Community on February 3, 1945 who preceded her in death. Along with her parents and husband, Geneva was preceded in death by 3 brothers Roy, Ermal and Earl Davis, 5 sisters; Ruth Conley, Nola Martin, Merle Barrett Anna Belle Piatt and Martha McCoy.

Geneva is survived by her son Don "Sonny"(Patty) Frye, 3 daughters; Sheila Burchett Canterbury, Reda Eichenlaub and Tennie Lee (Randy) Dials all of West Portsmouth, 14 grandchildren; Steven Hayslip, Jason Burchett, Jeremy Burchett, Jerrod Burchett, Joy Lynn Tupper, Teri Long, Rachel Dials, Candy Jo Martin, Robbie Frye, Timmy Frye, David Dials, Dustin Mayhew, Josh Mayhew and Mardy Smith, 22 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Mary Adams and Bonnie Shepherd both of New Boston, 2 brothers-in-law Louis Frye and Craddock Frye both of West Portsmouth.

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon Friday February 15, 2013 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Jason Coriell officiating and interment in Worley's Run Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8:00 PM on Thursday and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday.
