George Patrick Easter, 77

George Patrick Easter, 77 of West Portsmouth passed away Thursday June 9, 2011 at his residence. He was born March 21, 1934 in Portsmouth to the late George W. and Eva Turner Easter. He was a retired truck driver for Coleman Construction, a Marine Corps veteran, and a member of the Radio Controlled Flyers Association, as well as an exceptional banjo picker. George enjoyed spending time with the 2 joys of his life Timmy and Ryan. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a sister; Avanelle Cooper.

George is survived by his wife of 57 years Eunice Evans Easter, a daughter; Debra (James) Barber of West Portsmouth, a brother; Chester (Judy) Easter of Alabama, 2 grandsons; Travis (Sonja) Thompson and Wesley (Cassie) Barber, 1 granddaughter; Brandy (Jeremy) Conley, 3 great grandsons; Timothy, Ryan and Owen and 2 great granddaughters; Maya and Lily.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday June 13, 2011 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Gary Hopkins officiating and interment in Friendship Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5-8:00 pm and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
