George Richard Parry, 81
George Richard Parry, 81 of West Portsmouth died Wednesday August 24, 2011 at SOMC Hospice. He was born September 26, 1929 in West Portsmouth to the late Arthur Emrys and Margaret Jenkins Parry. Along with his parents George was preceded in death by a sister Roselyn Vancus. He retired from the US Postal Service where he was a mail carrier. He was also a United States Army Korean War veteran.
George is survived by 2 sons; George Michael Parry of Worthington and Richard Byron Parry of Columbus, 1 sister, Mary Frances Smalley of West Portsmouth and 1 grandchild Michael David Parry.
There will be graveside services held 1:00 PM Saturday August 27, 2011 at Rushtown Cemetery with graveside military rites by James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery starting at 12:30 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth.
