Glenn Gifford, 73

Glenn Gifford, 73 of Stout went to be with the Lord surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday March 8, 2011 at his home. He was born March 15, 1937 in Buena Vista to late Orval and Bertha Boland Gifford. He was a retired Riverboat Captain with 42 years of service at Midland Enterprises. He attended Blue Creek Tabernacle in Adams County for many years. Along with his parents Glenn was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Ralph, Howard and Kenneth Gifford and a grandson Mackie Showalter. He was a very special man, husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be very much missed by all who knew and loved him.

Glenn is survived by his wife Myrtle Weghorst Gifford who he married on May 25, 1956, 2 sons; Keith (Linda) Gifford and Mark (Connie) Gifford both of Stout, 11 grandchildren; Aaron (Kimberly) Gifford, Denver (Chrissy) Gifford, Jessica Burdett, Alicia Showalter, Angel Gifford, Glenda Gifford, Miranda (Teahl) Cantrell, Cody Gifford, Shey Gifford, Austin Gifford and Mark C. Gifford, 8 great grandchildren; Colton and Joselyn Gifford, Devin and Hunter Gifford, Darren and Roschelle Cantrell, Kylee and Brock Burdett, and 1 sister Janice (Forrest) Spires of Stout.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday March 12, 2011 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth and interment in McKendree Cemetery.
