Gloria Jean Fowler, 76

Gloria Jean Fowler, 76 of Portsmouth, died Sunday, November 16, 2025 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born April 1, 1949 in Portsmouth to the late Homer Lawrence "Mick" and Helena Ealey Swords.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Kevin, Donald and Homer "Buck" Swords, and 2 sisters; Rebecca Swords and Pat Vest.

Gloria is survived by a son, Richard David Fowler, a daughter, Vanessa Fowler, 7 brothers; Leroy Swords, Randy Swords, Herman Swords, Gerald Swords, Clayton Swords, Rick Swords, and Jeff Swords, 9 sisters; Frankie Piatt, Nancy Scarberry, Regina Carter, Roxanne Porter, Vivian Foster, Karen Swim, Tammy Crabtree, Corita Barley and Letitia Swords, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, November 21, 2025 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Randy Bratka officiating and interment in Vaughters Cemetery.
