Grace Marie Drake, 94
Grace Marie Drake, 94, a Portsmouth resident died Monday, August 28, 2006, at Southern Ohio Medical Center. Grace was born September 19, 1911 in Portsmouth to the late George W. and Florence Ann Monk Sponsler. She was a homemaker and a Charter Member of Carey's Run Church of Christ.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Deward Drake. She is survived by three sons, Robert E. (Sandy) Drake of London, OH, Ronald David Drake of Columbus, Darrell (Carla) Drake of Springfield; one daughter Emily (Michael) Crawford of South Shore; a daughter-in-law Pamela Drake of Waynesville; two nephews Donald (Jean) Williams of Dayton, Homer (Charlotte) Vandervort of Jacksonville, FL.; a niece Diana Holton of London, OH; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Grace was preceded in death by three sons, Gary, Terry, and Larry Drake;one daughter-in-law Bonita Drake; one brother, Homer Sponsler: three sisters, Pearl Shafford, Ruth Raymond and Kathryn Montgomery.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Thursday, August 31, 2006 at Carey's Run Church of Christ with Jimmy Hughes officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth from 6 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday and at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
