Harold Cooper 83
Harold Cooper, 83 of Dayton, a former West Portsmouth resident, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Hospice of Dayton. Harold was born May 1, 1926 in West Portsmouth to the late James and Jessie Bailey Cooper. He had retired from Dayton Power and Light Company and was a WWII Navy veteran. Harold was proceeded in death by his wife; Thelma Mae Cooper, whom he married in Greenfield, Ohio and one brother; Donald Cooper.
Harold is survived by three sons; Douglas (Learn) Cooper of Columbus, Gregory Cooper of Erie, MI and Jeffrey (Jody) Cooper of Dayton, 7 grandchildren; Jenny, Jean Marie, Alan, John, Heather, Hilary and Haley, 10 great grandchildren; Sophia, Madison, Treat, Ella, Alivia, Preston, Benjamin, Samuel, Phailin and Gracie.
Funeral services will be 2PM Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with interment in McKendree Cemetery. Graveside Military rites will be given by the James Dickey American Legion Post 23. Friends may call at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home from 1PM until the funeral hour.
