Harry Raymond Cassidy, 80
Harry Raymond Cassidy, 80 of West Portsmouth, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday August 12, 2024. He was born September 23, 1943 in Portsmouth, to the late Harry Eugene and Helen Russell Cassidy.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother John (Karla) Cassidy. Harry was a retired Insurance Adjuster where he worked for GAB for 2 years and State Auto for 38 years.
Harry and his brothers and father built many homes in the area. He was a avid carpenter and an electrician. He was a National Guard veteran and a member of Holy Redeemer and Our lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Harry's prize possessions were his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren videoing and attending their school and sporting functions.
Harry is survived by his wife of 55 years, Maxine Coleman Cassidy, whom he married on March 22, 1969, 2 sons; David (Telena) Cassidy and Dan (Amy) Cassidy, a daughter, Kim Cassidy-Chamberlin, 9 grandchildren; Hali (Chris) Monteiro, Hannah (Clay) Massie, Elizabeth Cassidy, Drew (Tara) Cassidy, Isabel Cassidy, Alex Cassidy, Luke Cassidy, Reece Chamberlin and Parker Chamberlin, 3 great grandchildren; Sophia Monteiro, Emmett Massie and Russell Cassidy, 4 brothers; Jim (Kim) Cassidy, Tom (Deanne) Cassidy, Steve Cassidy and Joe (Marcella) Cassidy, 2 sisters; Pat Mahle and Janet (Ken) Clark, along with several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Fulton officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the church on Saturday starting at 9:00 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth.
