Mrs. Hazel Elizabeth Summers (Snook) 84

Mrs. Hazel Elizabeth Summers (Snook), maiden name Shope, died Friday, December 5, 2008 at Golden Years Rehabilitation Center in Portsmouth following a period of declining health. Hazel, widely known as "Mom", lived most of her 84 years of a full life in Scioto County, having 12 children and outliving three husbands. All of her children but one survived her, as well as a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren and a special companion Raymond Pertuset. "Mom" was a member of the Portsmouth American Legion and the Moose Lodge. She was an enthusiastic fan of country music, dancing and a frequent attendee of the races at Portsmouth Raceway Park.

Funeral service will be noon Monday, December 8, 2008 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth, with Pastor David Lute officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8pm on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavifuneralhome.com
