Helen Malone, 87

Helen Malone, 87 of West Portsmouth, died Friday, November 24, 2023 at Wesley Village at Hillview Retirement Center. She was born June 12, 1936 in McDermott to the late Elmer and Helen Louise Shelpman Stevens.

Along with her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her grandmother who raised her, Gertrude Shelpman, her husband, Elmer Richard Malone, whom she married on November 21, 1956, a son in law, Mark Thompson and a brother Glen Strickland.

Helen retired from Southern Ohio Medical after 20 plus years of service. She was also member of Nauvoo Methodist Church.

Helen is survived by a son Jeffrey (Carrie) Malone, 2 daughters: Karen (Ed) Ciraso and Brenda Thompson, 8 grandchildren: Amy Ballengee, Joy Ballengee, Kayla (Walter Neto) Ballengee, Jason Ballengee, Eric Thompson, Kara Thompson, Dylan Hale and Logan Stegall, one great granddaughter, Gabriella Neto, and 2 brothers: Elbert Worthington and Fred Worthington.

The family would like to thank all the staff of Wesley Village and SOMC hospice for their wonderful care.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, November 27, 2023 at The Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Pete Shaffer officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park.
