Helen Jane Sparks, 67 of Stout died Thursday, May 28, 2020 at her home surrounded by family. She was born August 18, 1952 in Portsmouth to the late George Wise Sr. and Lida Mae Hodge Wise. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, George Sparks, a daughter, Pamla Sparks, her stepmom, June Hodge Wise, her mother-in-law, Ida Mae Perkins, 2 brothers; George Wise Jr. and John Wise, and 2 sisters; Elma Carrington and Bonnie Hill.

Helen is survived by her husband, James Bruce Sparks Sr., a son, James Bruce (Lillian) Sparks Jr., a daughter, Bonnie Dalton, 7 grandchildren; Hope (Nathan) Haywood, AJ Boyd, Heather Sparks, Rachel Sparks, Molly Dalton, Buddy Cottrell, and Helayna Cottrell, 2 great grandchildren; Piper and Bexley, 2 brothers; Tommy (Rosemary) Wise and Donnie Wise, 9 sisters; Ruby (Charles) Morgan, Patsy Morgan, Betty Cattee, Georgia (Larry) Adkins, Mary (Samuel) Smith, Sandy (Wayman) Green, Suzan (Due) Perkins, Carolyn Moore, and Debbie (Chuck) Gravely, along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Pastor Pete Shaffer officiating and interment in McKendree Cemetery.
