Helena Jean Swords, 87

Helena Jean Ealey Swords, 87 of West Portsmouth, died Tuesday November 18, 2014 at her home. She was born August 17, 1927 in Flatwoods, KY to the late Luther and Lilly Caudill Ealey. Along with her parents Helena was preceded in death by her husband Homer Lawrence Swords who she married on August 28, 1942, 2 sons; Kevin Swords and Donald Ray Swords, a daughter Rebecca K. Swords, a sister Garnett Rems, a brother Dim Ealey, 3 grandchildren; Tiffany Dawn Swords , Rebecca Cooper and April Dawn Swords.

Helena is survived by 8 sons; Homer K. Swords, Gerald Swords, Jeffery Swords, Herman E, Swords, Clayton Swords, Ricky Swords, Leroy Swords and Randy Swords, 11 daughters; Patricia Vest, Gloria Fowler, Vivian Foster, Roxann Porter, Tammy Crabtree, Regina Carter, Francis Piatt, Nancy Scarberry, Karen Swim, Corita Bartley and Letitia Swords, over 50 grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday November 24, 2014 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Maurice Pierce officiating and interment in Vaughters Cemetery.
