Helena M. Wellman, 77
Helena M. Wellman, 77 of Portsmouth, died Sunday April 24, 2011 at Golden Years Convalescent Center. She was born August 31, 1933 in Portsmouth to the late Kennie and Myrtle Marie Spradlin Maynard . She attended Church of God Prophecy in New Boston and was a homemaker, Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Luther Lytten and her second husband Gordon Wellman, 5 brothers; Rome, Robert Glenn, Claude Ray, John Bruce and Dahl Maynard.
Helena is survived by a son; Stephen Lytten of Columbus, 3 daughters;, Cathy (Mike) Hunter of Athens, Susanne (Greg) Wesney of Monroe, MI and Courtney (Burl) Bragdon of Portsmouth, a brother; Lewis Maynard of West Portsmouth, 3 sisters; Dorothy Piatt of West Portsmouth, Marie Caldwell of Sciotoville and Jackie Harwood of Peoria, AZ., 6 grandchildren; Misty, Jerrod, Sarah, Scott, Katie and Nathan, and 1 great grandchild, Elise.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday April 28, 2011 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Howard Pruitt officiating and interment in Friendship Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8:00 pm Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home.
