Homer Leroy Pistole, 89

Homer Leroy Pistole, 89 of West Portsmouth, died Wednesday December 28, 2016 at Hill View Retirement Center. He was born January 2, 1927 in Scioto County to the late William Ernest and Alma Noel Pistole. He was a retired salesman for Pepsi Cola. He was a World War II United States Army Veteran and a member of the Portsmouth Elks Lodge #154. Along with his parents Homer was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Bill and Ralph Pistole, 2 half brothers; Herbert and Danny Pistole, a step brother Jerry Lockhart, 2 sisters; Emma Jean Radcliff and Eloise Osborne, and a half sister, Brenda Messer. He was a song leader in church and loved playing golf.

Homer is survived by his wife Mary Elizabeth Renn Pistole, who he married on May 25, 1955, a son Dennis (Beth) Pistole of West Portsmouth, 2 daughters; Linda Covert of New Boson and Peggy (Steve) Hines of Russell, KY.,a brother Carl Pistole of West Portsmouth, half brother Kevin Pistole of West Portsmouth, step brother James Lockhart of San Diego, CA., 2 sisters; Ruby Hubbard and Janet Evans both of McDermott, and a half sister, Nedra Kenyon of West Portsmouth, step sister Martha Jean Webb of Cincinnati, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday January 2, 2017 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Craddock Frye and Curtis Jones officiating. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery with graveside military rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.
