James William Culbertson, Jr. 50, of McDermott left on his last big journey, Thursday, May 19, 2005 at his residence. James was born June 27, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois to the late James William Culbertson, Sr. and to Marjorie Bray Culbertson who survives. Jim had been a member of the American Dog Breeders Association – a Judge since 1985 and awarded their Lifetime Achievement Award (ADBA), served on the board of the Endangered Breed Association (EBA), Founder and Chairman of the Board of the Ohio Dog Breeders Association (ODBA), Founder and owner of American Mills Iron Workers Kennels, served on the Union Twp.Volunteer Fire Dept., member of World Championship Car Stero (MECA), served on Shawnee State Facilities Committee and was an Honorary Member of TKE, was a member of 769 Local Iron Workers out of Ashland, KY, served in the US Navy and attended South Portsmouth Church of God.
James is survived by his wife Barbara Euton Culbertson; two sons, James William Culbertson III and Mack Culbertson of Kettering; one daughter, Kathleen "Katie" Joy Culbertson at home, three brothers, Donald Culbertson of Yuma, Arizona, Howard (Stacy) Culbertson and John (Jennifer) Culbertson of Salyersville, KY; two sisters, Amanda Susie (Jesse) Morrow of Ten Mile, Oregon, and Robin (Lloyd) Lemaster of Salyersville, KY. He was preceded in death by one brother, David Culbertson.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Monday, May 23, 2005 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Jim Brandenburg and Bob Davis officiating. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 5 to 9 P.M. on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
