James Wesley Culver Sr., 72
James Wesley Culver Sr., 72 of West Portsmouth, died Tuesday December 9, 2008 at his home. He was born April 22, 1936 in Quincy, Kentucky to the late Charles Edward and Nancy Carver Culver. He was retired from Empire Detroit Steel.
James is survived by his wife Eunice Prater Culver whom he married on June 12, 1956, 2 sons; James Wesley Culver Jr. (Julie Ellis) of West Portsmouth, Tim Culver of Denver, Co., a daughter Connie (Alan) Slocum of Westerville, a brother William Culver of Portsmouth, 2 sisters; Betty Hubbard of McDermott and Carolyn Osborn of Waverly, 2 granddaughters Marissa Culver (Mike Hall) of Portsmouth and Vanessa Slocum of Worthington, along with a great grandson Brody Hall of Portsmouth.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday December 12, 2008 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Dick Mayer officiating and interment in Mershon Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8:00 PM on Thursday and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday. The family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in James's name. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com
