James David Gray, 89

James David Gray, 89, of West Portsmouth died at his residence Tuesday, June 21, 2005. James was born December 3, 1915 in Carter County, KY to the late William S. and Rose B. Wilson Gray. He worked at Detroit Steel, 35 years of service at Harbison Walker Brickyard and was a Minister for over sixty years—former pastor of Christ Temple Church and current pastor of Apostolic Brethren Church. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.

James married Ella R. Light on April 12, 1933 and she preceded him in death March 9, 1986. He is survived by two daughters, Janet Hall of West Portsmouth, and Emma (Wilburn) Noel of Sugar Grove; three sons, David (Bud) and Carol Gray of Wheelersburg, James A Gray of West Portsmouth, Kenneth (Jack) and Lana Gray of Portsmouth; foster son, Carl Munzer; two sisters, Mae Scaff, Rosalie Bertram both of Portsmouth; 20 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 14 Great Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, three brothers, and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Friday, June 24, 2005 at the Apostolic Brethern Church in West Portsmouth with Clarence Woodbridge, Mike Gifford and Leemac Bendolph officiating. Visitation will be at the Church from 5 to 8 P.M. on Thursday. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park with graveside Military Rites by James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.
