James L. Kitchen, 81

James L. Kitchen, 81 of West Portsmouth went to be with his loving wife, Norma Lee on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at SOMC Hospice.  He was born March 25, 1938 in Portsmouth to the late Clarence and Lena Clifford Kitchen.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Rhoden Kitchen, a stepson, Wayne Hoople, 2 brothers; Clarence Kitchen and David Kitchen, and 3 sisters; Leatrice Kitchen, Betty McGlone, and Ruth McGlone.

James is survived by a stepson, Harry Lee Hoople, a stepdaughter, Laura Gelly, 8 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a brother, Gale Kitchen, along with many nieces and nephews.
