James L. Loless, 81

James L. Loless, 81 of West Portsmouth, died Tuesday, February 7, 2017 after a brief illness.  He was born January 31, 1936 in Creole Springs, Illinois to the late Dowe Thomas and Dorothy L. Johnson Loless.

Jim was a United States Navy Veteran. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of the Operating Engineers Local 18 for over 50 years.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Wanda Maxine Shaffer Loless whom he married September 4, 1959, a daughter, Elaine (Will) Atkins of Georgetown, KY, 2 brothers; Bob (Phyllis) Loless, Jack (Patsy) Loless, 3 sisters; Shirley Ray, Mitzie (Roger) Rawlins, Mary (Joe) Alexander all of Columbus, 3 grandchildren; Amanda, Sarah, Will Atkins all of Georgetown, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00AM Saturday February 11, 2017 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with internment in Scioto Burial Park.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8:00 PM on Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.  Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
