James Edward Ridgeway, 62
James Edward Ridgeway, 62 a former West Portsmouth and Massillon, Ohio resident died Friday, September 29, 2006 in Columbus. James was born May 24, 1944 in Portsmouth to the late Edward and Zelma Farmer Ridgeway. James worked as a machine operator for Crown Cork and Seal. He was an Army Veteran who served in Vietnam and Germany. He was a member of American Legion Post 221 in Massillon, a Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 3124 in Massillon, a member of DAV Chapter 38, and the Massillon American-Croatian Club. James received the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Sharpshooters Medal. He attended Nauvoo United Methodist Church as a child and later in life attended and became a member of Faith Baptist Church in Wichita, KS.
James is survived by a son, Kevin (Kristen) Ridgeway of Indianapolis, IN; a daughter, Kelli Ridgeway of Wichita, KS; two brothers, Robert Ridgeway of New Boston and Richard Ridgeway of Monterey, IN; five sisters, Ann Vice of Rosemount, Opal Wright of Meridian, Idaho, Linda Musick of Columbus, Janet Cristelli of Roy Utah, and Nancy Dadosky of Minford. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and William Ridgeway.
Funeral Services will be 1 P.M. Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with interment in Scioto Burial Park and graveside Military Rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion.
