James Edward Sadler, 84

James Edward "Pappy" Sadler, 84 of West Portsmouth died Tuesday March 17, 2015 at his residence, surrounded by his children and his dog by his side. He was born June 1, 1930 in West Portsmouth to the late John Metzger and Edna Sadler Metzger. He was a retired baker after 30 years for Betsy Ross Bakery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita Darlene Sadler; a son, James "Bo" Sadler, two sisters; Thelma Brown, and Janie Metzger, and 4 brothers; Bobby, Buster, Roy, and Dennis Metzger.

He is survived by his wife Kimberly Sadler, 6 sons; Bill (Barb) Sadler of West Portsmouth, Edward Sadler of Portsmouth, Lester (Nancy) Sadler of West Portsmouth, Elbert (Linda) Sadler of Albany, Dennis (Joyce) Sadler of South Webster, and Jason Sadler of New Boston. 5 daughters; Diane (Leon) Chaffin of Stout, Jackie (Mike) Journey of West Portsmouth, Andrea (Jeremy) Reed of Wheelersburg, Sara (Dan) Pennington of Portsmouth, Amanda Sadler, with whom he lived with in West Portsmouth, a sister Jean Ann (Don) Winters of West Portsmouth, a brother, Pearl Metzger of Columbus, 25 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday March 21, 2015 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Lynn Wellman officiating. Interment will be in Worley's Run Cemetery.
