James O. Thomas, 75

James O. Thomas, 75 of Portsmouth, died Sunday October 24, 2010 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born June 9, 1935 in Portsmouth to the late Ralph M. and Isabelle M. Staten Thomas. He was retired from Gummer Wholesale of Heath, Ohio. He was a member of Dry Run Church of Christ, Aurora Masonic Lodge # 48, Eastern Star of Lucasville Chapter # 495 and the Daniel Boone Muzzleloader Club. Along with his parents James was preceded in death by a brother John Thomas and a sister Joan Spence.

James is survived by his wife Betty C. Sanford Thomas who he married on October 23, 1955 at Dry Run Church of Christ, 2 daughters; Tena (John) Fairchild of Eden Park and Carole Martin of Rosemount, 1 son, Jim (Tabi) Thomas of Rosemount, 4 grandchildren; Eric and Elizabeth Martin, Andrea and Brent McNeil, Heath Thomas and Chelsie and Daniel Hudson.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Wednesday October 27, 2010 at Dry Run Church of Christ with Mark Seevers and Rase Martin officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth from 5 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday where Masonic services will be held starting at 8:00PM by Aurora Masonic Lodge.
