Janet Sue Payton, 64

Janet Sue Payton, 64 of Portsmouth, died Friday, August 7, 2009 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. She was born April 9, 1945 in West Portsmouth to the late Oscar and Helen Robbins Thacker. Along with her parents Janet was preceded in death by her husband Floyd T. Payton. She was a retired grocery store manager as well as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Janet is survived by 4 children; Floyd T (Phyllis) Payton II of Chaplain, Ky., Melissa L. (Michael) Lowden of Smithfield, Ky., Mary H. (Tom) Williams of Campbellsburg, Ky. and Billy J. (Denise) Payton of Carrollton, Ky., 8 brothers and sisters; Frank (Bobbie) Thacker, Gary (Mary) Thacker, Pamela (David) Lester all of West Portsmouth, Linda (George) Blom of Westland, Mi., Harold (Julie) Thacker of Chaplain, Ky., Tom (Tammy) Thacker of McDermott, Phyllis Moore of South Shore and Jane (Terry) Yates of Mt Eden, Ky., 6 grandsons; Bradley, Jeramy, Cory, Samuel, Jamie and Zachary, 2 step grandchildren; Ashley and Christopher, along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday August 10, 2009 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Ed Shonkwiler officiating and interment in Friendship Cemetery.
