Janet M. Shultz, 73

Janet M. Scott Shultz, 73 of West Portsmouth passed away Friday September 23, 2011 at SOMC Hospice. She was born May 23, 1938 in Scioto County to the late Elmer and Annes Branham Scott. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and had also worked at Harts, Foodland, Shuperts Store, Board of Elections, and as a librarian at Dry Run School. She was a long time member of the Oldtown United Methodist Church in West Portsmouth, Janet expressed her faith and her love of the lord to whomever she met. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 3 sisters; Thelma Burden, Emma Ruth and Marilyn Scott, and a great grandson; Dane Carver.

Janet is survived by her husband of 52 years Glenn Shultz who she married on February 14, 1959, 2 daughters; LeAnn Shultz and Glenda (Charles) Adkins both of West Portsmouth, 2 sons; Scott (Lisa) Shultz of Blue Creek, Robert Shultz of Wheelersburg, 7 grandchildren; Jason (Shelly) Shultz, Keith Shultz, Kristin (Barry) Carver, Sherri Adkins, C.J and Josh Adkins and Christopher Shultz. 4 great grandchildren; Jonathon and Joey Shultz, Zoe Shultz and Lorelei Carver, 3 sisters; Darlene (Jim) Browning of Indiana; Iris Bellomy of Rosemount, and Phyllis (Don) Thacker of West Portsmouth, 3 brothers; James Scott of Pond Creek, Danny (Linda) Scott and Gary (Juanita) Scott of Columbus.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday September 28, 2011 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Reverend Matthew Brookes Officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
