Janice Faye Davis, 82
Janice Faye Shepherd Davis, 82 of West Portsmouth, died Sunday, June 28, 2026 at Bridgeport Nursing Home. She was born May 23, 1944 in Portsmouth to the late Eugene and Margaret Faye Siberal Shepherd.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband David Davis, a daughter, Patricia Davis and a brother, Michael Shepherd.
Janice dedicated her life to her family. As a devoted homemaker, she found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved, especially helping raise her grandchildren. Her home was a place of comfort, warmth, and unconditional love.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Mandi Runyon (Bill) and Matthew Davis. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Siera (Will) Davis, Alice Addis, Noah Addis, Tyler Thompson, Bralyn Newman, Drakon Davis, and Alucard Davis; and three great-grandchildren: Arkhem Addis, Athena Tackett, and Erie Addis, 3 brothers; Donnie, Butch and Danny Shepherd along with several nieces and nephews.
Janice will be remembered as a kind, loving, and compassionate woman whose greatest purpose in life was her family. She gave selflessly, loved deeply, and always made those around her feel welcomed and cared for. The memories she created and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, strength, and devotion will continue through the generations she helped shape. Her family finds comfort in knowing that her love will live on in each of them, and they will cherish the many precious memories they shared with her.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday, July 5, 2026 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Interment will be in Davis Family Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday starting at 1:00 PM. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
