Jean Alice Charles Colley, 68

Jean Alice Charles Colley, 68 went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2018 at her home in West Portsmouth. She was born August 12, 1949 at her home in South Webster, Ohio to Barbara Morrow Charles of Portsmouth and the late Epp Charles Jr. She is preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart Gary Colley whom she married January 23, 1971, 2 brothers; Jack and William (Cathy) Charles, 4 brother-in-law's; Earl (Connie) Colley, John Colley, Nero Shepherd, and Ron Cook, and a sister-in-law; Sandra (Danny) Gray.

Jean worked at Williams Shoe Factory at the age of 18. She then worked as a head cook at the Elks Country Club. She was a member of both Community Bible Church of Lucasville and Rehoboth Mission of West Portsmouth.

Along with her mother, Jean is survived by a son; Troy Colley, a daughter; Telena (David) Cassidy both of West Portsmouth; a special niece Deborah Charles of Peoria, AZ who had lived with her for some years, 2 brothers; Richard Charles of Sciotoville and Randy (Sharon) Charles of South Webster, a sister; Mary Kay (Roger) Hale of Monroe, GA., 8 grandchildren; Hali (Chris) Monteiro of Columbus, Courtnie (Scott) Summers of West Portsmouth, Hannah (Clay) Massie of West Portsmouth, Alexandra (Danial) Altman, Troy Colley II, Trevor Colley all of McDermott, Elizabeth Cassidy of West Portsmouth, and Abigail Colley of McDermott, several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Jean is also survived by her sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws whom she was very close with; Jackalyn (Kenny) Staggs, Carolyn Shepherd, Jerry (Elaine) Colley, Richard (Shirley) Colley, Cammie (Jerry) Justice, Connie Cook, and Vina Colley.

While only Mother to a few, she was a Mamaw to all. With a heart of gold, she will be remembered through the lives of those she has touched.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Joey Nelson officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 PM on Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com.
