Jerry Lee Hart, 72

Jerry Lee Hart, 72 of West Portsmouth died Wednesday June 15, 2011 at SOMC Hospice. He was born August 30, 1938 in Portsmouth to the late Aubrey Hart and Armistice "Misty" Malone Hart Montgomery. Jerry was retired from the Detroit Steel Mill as well as Colonial Florist and was a member of the chain gang for Portsmouth West High School football for 30 years. In addition to helping build the football field, Jerry was a member of the Portsmouth West Athletic boosters, and was a Coach for Little League Baseball and Pee Wee Football for many years. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son; Barry Wayne Hart.

Jerry is survived by his wife; Beatrice Stevens Hart who he married March 5, 1957 in New Boston, twin sons; Perry Dean Hart of West Portsmouth and Terry Lee ( Sarah) Hart of Portsmouth, one daughter; Kimberly Dawn Hart of West Portsmouth, a brother; Douglas Hart of Sciotoville, two sisters Linda Ridout Moore of McDermott, Sandy Rowley of West Portsmouth, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday June 18, 2011 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Craddock Frye officiating and interment in Friendship Cemetery.
