Jerry Lee Pickelsimer, 58

Jerry Lee Pickelsimer, 58, of West Portsmouth, died Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in West Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born October 31, 1953 in Scioto County to the late Norman and Georgia Evans Pickelsimer. Along with his parents Jerry was preceded in death by his grandparents Fred and Mable Pickelsimer, Reverend Delbert and Ida Evans and a brother, Randy Pickelsimer.
Jerry is survived by Patricia Coleman Pickelsimer; a son; J.P (Mindy) Pickelsimer of West Portsmouth; two daughters, Crystal (Michael) Adkins and Candace Shonkwiler of West Portsmouth; a sister Ruth and Harry Dingess of Wheelersburg, grandchildren; Abby and Braden Adkins, Kaylor and Levi Pickelsimer, and Gunnar Boone Shonkwiler; and many special nieces and nephews.
Jerry was retired from Boone Coleman Construction and a member of Laborers Local 83. He was a graduate of Portsmouth West High School Class of 1971. He attended Dry Run Church of Christ and was a National Guard veteran. Jerry was a devoted sports fan and longtime area coach. He spent many years coaching softball at Portsmouth West High School and at Shawnee State University.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth. Friends may call at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
