Joan Louise Freeland, 89

Joan Louise Freeland, 89 of Mt Vernon, Ohio, formerly of West Union, passed away October 21, 2023 at Altercare Canal Winchester in Canal Winchester, Ohio. She was born June 4, 1934 in Columbus, Ohio to the late David L. Ewing and Grace Green.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Samuel Freeland, a son Samuel Freeland Jr "Bo", two daughters; Sandy King and Angela Freeland, and her beloved pet; her dog "Scooby".

Joan is survived by three daughters; Christine (Fred) Cron-Newsom, Patricia (Terry) Anderson, and Michelle (Mike) Howell, two brothers; Butch Ewing and David Ewing, a sister Jeanette Bailey, 14 grandchildren; Amber Dagis, David Cron, Maddy Newsom, Adam Anderson, Odessa Reed, December Taylor, Austin King, Heather Hamm, Christopher Freeland, Natasha Ode, Summer Cook, Charlie Howell, Cameron Howell, and Chelsey Howell, along with several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Monday, October 30, 2023 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with interment to follow at West Union Village Cemetery in West Union.
