Joann Edith Hayslip, 88

Joann Edith Hayslip, 88 of West Portsmouth died Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at SOMC Hospice.  She was born June 3, 1932 in Columbus to the late Ira and Irene Woody Brumfield.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ferman James Hayslip, a son, James Joseph Hayslip, and a sister, Doris Birtcher.

Joann was a retired cook, she worked at the K&M and Shawnee restaurants and also volunteered at the Senior Citizen Center.  She was a member of the Church of Nazarene in West Portsmouth and loved the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Joann is survived by a son, Tony (Opal Musser) Hayslip, 2 daughters; Brenda (Randy) Blankenship and Becky (Jim) Gibson, 12 grandchildren; Jason (Brenda) Blankenship, Christopher (Jessica) Blankenship, Jodie (Justin) Essman, Christy (Steve) McWilliams, Sarah (John) Merritt, Marissa (Derrick) Coleman, Kasandra Gibson, Ryan (Helen) Hayslip, Alisha Hayslip, Juanita Peavey, Rachel (Matt) Bibber, and Jonathon (Tracy) Hayslip, 25 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Paul Hagen officiating and interment in Scioto Burial Park.  Friends may call at the funeral home starting at 12:00 PM on Thursday.  Condolences may be sent to www.rogerwdavisfuneralhome.com .
